Flowers for Grandpa Dan: A gentle story to help children understand Alzheimer’s disease. The hardcover book (also available) includes suggestions for talking with children about Alzheimer’s disease, provided by the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Louis Chapter. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book and note cards is donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
McIntyre is a watercolor, oil, and textile artist. She has created countless weavings, quilts, and other works of art, and has taught generations of young people to knit. Louise and her husband live on their family farm in central Nebraska, where they raised six children and taught them to grow corn, wheat, and gardens overflowing with flowers.
