Approaching Chimney Rock This card pictures wagons pulling into the evening circle in sight of Chimney Rock in western Nebraska. This landmark for the Oregon, California, Mormon and Pony express trails was mentioned in more pioneer diaries than any other. During the 19th century migration an estimated 500,000 emigrants traveled these trails between Missouri and the West.

This card features a watercolor painted by William Henry Jackson (1843-1942).
