On our search for finest products of Nebraska, we came across Ed Fennell, his associates and their hand made glass art. Quickly we knew that glass art pieces were a must for our website.
About the artist: Ed Fennell's passion for glass along with the heat of the forge drive his business, Crystal Forge in Omaha, Nebraska. The studio for creating custom blown pieces and fused and blown glass for stained glass fabricators has been in existence for twenty-six years. Fennell's kiln reaches temperatures up to 2,100 degrees as he transforms melted lumps into graceful glass vases, roundels, and more. Mr. Fennell places the glass lump at the end of a blowpipe and placed in the kiln. Keeping the pipe rotating, Fennell heats the glass, pulls it out and shapes it using a rag. So it goes as the piece is perhaps rolled through shards of multicolored glass and continually sculpted.
Mr. Fennell and his associates are producers of one of a kind items, using their creativity and imagination with each piece of glass art. Their blown glass ornaments are popular gifts. The art glass is each engraved in hand script with name of the artist and place of construction, usually on the bottom of each piece.
Each piece we carry are unique one of kind pieces. Currently, we are carrying a limited number of their finest pieces. We will rotate each piece based on sales. Therefore, be sure to check back often for new pieces of Crystal Forges' glass art.
