The Hackberry Crotch Hollow Form measures 6" diameter and 5 3/4" tall, it's form is a crotch section of a Hackberry tree from Alma Nebraska. The split running vertically down the center is where two separate limbs grew together. The dark portion if the vertical line is actually the bark from each limb. Since Mr. Adams does a lot of green turning it allows the wood to move through a controlled drying process. This piece has split apart on the line where each limb grew together. This vertical opening runs completely through one side through the bottom and part of the way up the other side. This is a very unique and exquisite piece with the split and the various grain patterns. Artist: Harold Adams.
